MURFREESBORO — Science Hill built a four-run lead against Bartlett before falling 8-4 in Wednesday’s elimination game at the TSSAA Class AAA baseball tournament at Siegel High School.
Summit scored four runs in the final inning to beat Science Hill 7-3 in the opening round of the TSSAA Class AAA baseball playoffs at Siegel High School on Tuesday.
Coach Sara Wallingford: “To be one of the top four teams in the state again, I’m really proud of them. That’s quite the accomplishment in itself, but it’s especially good when you consider their only loss came in the state semifinals.”

Gate City’s girls fell 3-0 to John Battle and the Blue Devils boys lost 3-0 to Abingdon on Monday in the Mountain 7 soccer finals.

In Saturday night’s second semifinal, an electrical storm and rain forced an hour-and-a-half delay with two outs in the top of the first inning, Gate City batting against Abingdon. The top-seeded Falcons eventually went on to beat the Blue Devils 8-1.
