JC Penney names new manager of mall store

KINGSPORT — JC Penney has named Sheena Adams general manager of its Fort Henry Mall location in Kingsport effective immediately. Adams has been with the Company for four years and brings 11 total years of retail experience to her new role in the Company’s highest level of store leadership.

“I am thrilled to be serving as general manager and leading an extraordinary team of dedicated associates who are passionate about delivering great products and exceptional service to our customers,” said Adams. “I look forward to serving the Kingsport community and ensuring every customer’s shopping experience at JCPenney is worth their time, money and effort.”

Through her career, Adams has held positions of increasing responsibility, leading teams and increasing credit performance at multiple stores with JCPenney, Burkes Outlet and Belk. Originally from Clintwood, Virginia, Adams comes to Kingsport from Pineville, North Carolina, where she was assistant manager of merchandise and operations at the JCPenney store there.

JCPenney first opened its doors in Fort Henry Mall, formerly Kingsport Town Center, on February 23, 1977.
