NICKELSVILLE, VA - Craig Jonathan Pratt, known as John Pratt, of Nickelsville, VA, departed this earthly life on November 29, 2019.  John was born on August 14, 1964.  He was predeceased by his mother, Sally Pratt; grandparents, Sid and Leona Stewart; and his cousin, Bo Travis.

Survivors are his father, Tom Pratt, Jr.; Cindy and Luther Travis, Renee Dykes, Rakiel Ashbrook, and Bart Travis.  Others left to mourn John are friends and neighbors, Daniel (Buck) and Susie Crabtree, Larry Culbertson, Walter Manis, Grover Meade, Jr., Tony and Laura Waldrop, and Preston White.

John attended Twin Springs High School in Nickelsville, VA in 1983/1984 and Dobyns-Bennett High School in Kingsport, TN.  He was of the Baptist faith and known to be well read and could speak intelligently on many subjects including the Bible.  John was also an avid jeopardy player.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, January 19, 2020 from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m at Nickelsville First Baptist Church.  A memorial service will follow at 4:00 p.m with Rev. Steve Collins officiating.  Music will be provided by Debbie and David Easterling.  Burial will follow the service at Point Truth Cemetery on State Route 774.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Nickelsville First Baptist Church or to a charity of your choice.
