Born September 14, 1940 in Kingsport, TN. He was the son of Clyde and Randa Cavin. Paul grew up in the Kingsport area and graduated from Sullivan High School. He served in the U.S. Army.
Paul worked, as an employee for Holston Auto, was the owner and operator of Paul’s Alternator Repair Shop, Burns Security, and Walmart. He attended Gospel Mission Church.
Paul was a kind, caring, and loving husband, dad, papaw, and “poppy”. He will be dearly missed by all that knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents. Clyde and Randa Cavin; brother, Gary Cavin, and sister, Brenda Fish.
Surviving are his wife, Barbara Cavin of Greenville; son, Wayne Cavin and wife Michelle; daughters, Missy Edwards and husband Mike and Miranda Frazier and husband Matthew; grandchildren, Emily Cavin, Ella Cavin, Leanne Hesser, Sean Crawford, Jaren Edwards, Drew Edwards, Tyler Edwards, and Josh Hyatt; great-grandchildren Liam Crawford, Anderson Edwards, Caedan and Carson Cox; brothers, Larry Cavin and Paul E. Cavin.
The family will receive friends on Friday, January 17, 2020 from 12:00 to 1:00pm at East Lawn Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral service will follow at 1:00pm with Phillip Free officiating.
Paul will be laid to rest following the funeral at East Lawn Memorial Park in the Garden of Mausoleum. Military rites conferred by the American Legion Post 3/265.
Family will serve as pallbearers.
