Naomi was born on December 11, 1932 in Nickelsville, VA to the late David R. Culbertson and Kathleen (Pritchard) Culbertson. She was also preceded in death by her husband George D. Lane, Jr.
Naomi moved to Kingsport early in her life and began work at the Kingsport Telephone Office as a telephone operator. She enjoyed her time there with her friends. Later, Naomi became a nurse in her area caring for her patients for many years.
She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and a special friend to many. Those who knew her will miss her sweet smile, her gentle touch, and her unique sense of humor which brightened many days for us.
Naomi leaves behind to cherish her memory, her daughters; Kathleen (Kathy) Lane, Columbia, MD, Joy Lane and David, Nickelsville, VA; son and grandson, M. Daniel Lane and Brendan Lane; sisters, Thelma Culbertson of NOVA in Weber City, VA, Fern Culbertson Dockery, Gate City, VA, Jean Culbertson Richardson and husband Larry, Johnson City, TN; brothers, Seibert Culbertson, Hammond, IN, Howard Culbertson and wife Diane, Portage, IN, David J. Culbertson and wife Ruby, Nickelsville, VA; aunt, Lucy Comer, Clinton, TN.
Brendan, her grandson, was the highlight of her life and brought her much happiness and pride watching him grow.
The family wishes to send a special thank you to all of her caregivers at Nova Healthcare and Caris Hospice for their care, love, and friendship during her time there.
It was Naomi’s wish to be cremated. There are no formal services scheduled at this time.
