Gary Clinton Howington

GATE CITY, VA - Gary Clinton Howington, age 69 of Gate City, VA passed away and went to be with the Lord on Monday, July 8, 2019 at his residence.

He was born in Kingsport, TN on January 9, 1950, and was the son of the late Robert Clinton and Edna Mae Lark Howington. In addition to his parents Gary was also preceded in death by a brother, Gerald Lynn Howington; uncle and aunt, Donald and Bernice Lark; aunt, Ruth Lark. He was of the Baptist faith and was a good man, devoted father and grandfather. Gary loved his family and will be sorely missed.

Mr. Howington is survived by a daughter, Marty Howington; granddaughter, Olivia Harper; sisters, Rita Ann Dingus and husband Phillip, Inez Denise Howington Reed and husband Buford; brothers, Ronald Wayne Howington and wife Linda, Rufus Alan Howington, Larry Keith Howington and wife Cindy, Eddie Ross Howington, Kenneth Neil Howington, and Kevin Michael Howington; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

The family will receive friends Friday, July 12, 2019 from 5 to 7 PM at Colonial Funeral Home, Weber City, VA. and anytime at the residence. Funeral service will follow at 7 PM with Pastor Terry Rhoton officiating and Pine Grove Harmony providing the music.Graveside service will be held Saturday, July 13, 2019 at 10 AM in the Holston View Cemetery with family and friends serving as pallbearers.  Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the funeral home by 9:30 AM to follow in procession.
