Rennia Davis and Rae Burrell scored 18 points apiece and the No. 20 Lady Vols cruised past Air Force 81-54 on Sunday at Thompson-Boling Arena in the inaugural meeting between the teams.
Kasiyahna Kushkituah added 13 points for Tennessee (7-0), which had five players in double figures.
Burrell and Kushkituah, both reserves, combined for 15-of-18 shooting. Tennessee shot 55% and scored 56 points in the paint.
Riley Snyder led the Falcons (1-7) with 20 points. Kaelin Immel had 13 and Haley Jones scored 10 with nine rebounds, but Air Force hit just 21 of 71 shots (29.6%) from the field.
Kushkituah had seven points and Burrell four during an 11-0 run late in the first quarter that ended with the Lady Vols on top 24-15. A 12-2 run in the second quarter and a late 6-0 burst helped boost the lead to 43-27 at the break.
Snyder hit 5 of 6 shots and had 14 points for Air Force in the first half, but her teammates went just 5-for-26.
Air Force became the first team to outrebound Tennessee this season, earning a 40-39 edge. The Lady Vols came in at plus-18 on the boards.
Davis, a junior, just missed her fifth
double-double after finishing with nine rebounds.
Tennessee recorded a season-high 15 steals and converted them into a season- high 21 fast-break points.
